 In Discover Iran, Uncategorized

Nowruz (Iranian New Year) is an ancient Zoroastrian festival that takes place on the Spring Equinox.

In the days before Nowruz, the streets of Iran are filled with people buying essential ingredients and artifacts to place on their auspicious Haft-Seentable and to celebrate New Year. These pictures were taken on the 19th March 2014 by Sharzad Darafsheh in Tehran.
